How to Download New Skins for PowerDVD

Cyberlink's PowerDVD is one of the industry's leading DVD-playing software packages. It's garnered top reviews from nearly every tech magazine, and it offers unrivaled support for high-quality sound and video formats. Although users love PowerDVD for its technical features, it's surprisingly customizable. By following a few steps, you can download new skins for your player and give it a fresh new look.

Instructions

1. Step 1

   Launch PowerDVD. You don't need to load a DVD first, since you can still change the program's settings without running an actual disc.

2. Step 2

   Look for the Configuration icon on the main screen. It's small and sort of inconspicuous, but the icon shows a cartoonish image of a hammer and a screwdriver that's easy to spot. Click on it.

3. Step 3

   Switch to the "User Interface" tab once the Configuration panel opens.

4. Step 4

   View the preview of the player's current skin. Just above that there's a button marked "Download." Click on it to open the selection of new available skins.

5. Step 5

   Check the boxes next to the new skins you'd like to download. You can download more than one, so feel free to check as many as you want. When you've finished doing that, click "Download."

6. Step 6

   Choose a new skin from the "Select Skin" drop-down menu. Then, click "OK" at the bottom of the Configuration panel to load the new skin.
